Hiya there...If you're lurking on this blog you're either interested in rolling with us or you've already Mixed with us and are stoked to roll this year again. Either way Thanks for considering spending a spring Saturday with us nerds. Honestly we've had such a rad time planning and organizing this thing the last two years and our main objective is just to create a memorable bicycle party that we all can look forward to year after year. It can be downright ridiculous some days/weeks here on the Peninsula with the unrelenting sog and grey. The only way to combat the mental punishment is to create things to look forward to and to cultivate social gatherings. For us the Mixer has been a beacon the last couple years as the push through winter can sometimes feel like a flat tire on a muddy singletrack. The hope is that this little blip on the social cycling radar can serve as a bookmark and an artificial ray of sunlight for us and our fellow PNW cyclists as well.
The Disco Bay Mixer is a bicycle cruise....it’s a mixed surface stroll, a pedaling potluck, a shivery shindig, a stop and go ramble, a winter cycling social. Ride your bike someplace neat, stop, make coffee, drink beer, eat real good snacks, talk bikes and life, catch some nature at work and keep pedaling, that’s the style we’re talking about. It’s An all day bicycle field trip, a one day tour if you will. Bring your stove for hot bevs, your panniers or bags for snacks and extra clothes, it’s gonna be chilly. This ride is doable on any bike but optimal on something with fenders, mid width tires and racks somewhere to carry gear and goodies. About the late February early March time of year most of us are soggy, salty and socially starved out here on the peninsula. We just thought it’d be real nice to create a little organized ride to bring our cycling communities together for some laughs, some sips and some adventure.
Here's the important Details...

This year we've added an extra 12 or so miles to the route for those interested in some more dirt riding. This little bonus heads north out Diamond Point road and then goes through Miller Peninsula State park headed west on some nice double track dirt roads, it also offers some killer single track sections if you're into that type of thing. You'll emerge back onto East Sequim Bay Road and head south back to the Olympic Discovery Trail and main route.
